通話の時間の上限とクレジット
One call lasts at most 3 hours. At 3 hours everyone is taken out of the call; the meeting itself stays open, so you can press 「参加する」 again (the 3 hours restart). Calls use credits — each participant's minutes and each recording's minutes are charged to the meeting's creator (they appear as 「ミーティング」 on the usage screen). When the credits are about to run out, the call ends before they do, and while the credits or the usage limit are used up nobody can join: when the credits ran out, 「参加する」 opens the dialog 「クレジットが尽きています」 with what to do next (admins get 「クレジットを追加」; others are told to ask an admin); when the usage limit stopped it, the page says 「クレジットの残高か利用上限に達しているため、通話に参加できません」 (a guest just sees 「このリンクは使えません」). 10 minutes and 1 minute before the call ends, a notice appears at the top of the call for everyone, guests included: 「通話の上限(3 時間)に達するため、約 N 分後に通話が終了します」 or 「クレジットが残り少ないため、…」 (guests see only 「約 N 分後に通話が終了します」, without the reason); the × hides it until the next notice. After the call is cut, the meeting page says 「通話の上限(3 時間)に達したため、通話を終了しました。もう一度参加すると続けられます」 or 「クレジットが残り少ないため、通話を終了しました」. The audit log records it as 「通話の自動終了」. The limit cannot be changed.
「…」 → 「通話の情報」 shows, while open and updated every few seconds, 「この通話の通信量」 — 「受信」 and 「送信」 that this device sent and received in the call (for example 「120 MB」) — and, for members only, 「消費クレジット(推定)」: an estimate from the number of participants and the time elapsed (plus any recording). Guests never see credits there. The exact amount is on the usage screen.
After the meeting has ended, the meeting page's header row (next to 「30 分 · 4 人が参加」) shows a coin button 「N クレジット」 — only to the meeting's creator and admins, since the credits are charged to the creator; other members and guests do not see it, and it is not shown while the meeting is still open. Pressing it opens 「このミーティングの消費クレジット」 with the amount per category: 通話 / 録画 / 配信と視聴 / 字幕と書き起こし / AI の整理・翻訳・分析 / サム丸のライブ会話. An amount ending in 「以上」 means some charges have no known amount yet. It says 「書き起こしや分析、録画の分は、処理が終わってから加わります。録画ファイルの保管料は含みません。」 — transcription, analysis and recording are added only once their processing finishes (an in-person meeting counts as ended from the start, so its total grows afterwards), and recording-file storage is not included. Details are kept for 90 days; for a meeting that ended longer ago it says 「明細の保持期間(90 日)を過ぎたため、内訳はありません。」
「背景とエフェクト」
Open it from the sparkle button on the check screen, or from 「その他」 → 「エフェクト」 in the bar below the call. It affects only your own video and microphone, and others see the result. Tab 「背景」 has four headed groups: 「ぼかし」 (「背景なし」, 「弱いぼかし」, 「強いぼかし」), 「自分の画像」 (「画像を追加」: JPEG, PNG, WebP, GIF, AVIF, BMP or HEIC up to 20MB — other files show 「画像ファイル(JPEG・PNG・WebP など)を選んでください」, larger ones 「画像が大きすぎます。20MB 以下の画像を選んでください」; large photos are shrunk before saving; kept only in this browser, never sent to the server; up to 6 — adding a 7th deletes the oldest), 「室内」 (本棚, 本棚とソファ, ラウンジ, 窓辺, 白い部屋, 木の壁) and 「自然」 (山と湖, 海辺). The first background takes a few seconds to prepare (「背景を準備しています」); browsers that cannot cut out the person show 「このブラウザでは背景を変えられません」. Tab 「映像」: 「明るさの自動調整」 switch (off by default; measures the face — the skin tones in the middle of the picture, not the whole room — and brightens it when it looks dark, lifting the mid-tones so a bright wall or window does not wash out; only ever brightens — it never darkens) and the 「明るさ」 slider (−50 to +50; 「元に戻す」 resets it). Brightness, auto or manual, changes only the person and a blurred room — a chosen background image keeps its own colours. While auto is on, the slider and 「元に戻す」 are disabled and the value reads 「自動」. Tab 「音声」: 「ノイズキャンセル」 (on by default; removes keyboard and room noise; unavailable browsers show 「このブラウザでは音声のエフェクトを使用できません」). On iPhone and iPad only Safari can use effects: other browsers (Brave, Chrome, …) show 「このブラウザでは背景と映像のエフェクトを使用できません。iPhone・iPad では Safari で参加すると使用できます」. Choices are remembered in this browser for the next meeting. No video backgrounds, colour filters, or face touch-up.
「同じ部屋にいる」(ハウリングを防ぐ)
When several people in the same room join the same call from their own devices, each device's mic picks up the other devices' speakers and the sound loops (howling / echo). The browser's echo cancellation only removes its own speaker's sound, so it cannot stop this. Fix: keep one device in the room as is, and on every other device turn on 「同じ部屋にいる」 — the switch on the check screen (under the people in the call, with the hint 「スピーカーを消音し、マイクをオフにして参加します。部屋の 1 台だけはオフのままにしてください」), or 「…」 → 「同じ部屋にいる」 during the call. A device with it on plays no sound from the call (other participants, shared-screen audio, and サム丸 are all silent on it) and its mic is turned off at that moment; 「スピーカー消音中」 shows next to the title. To speak, turn only the mic on (it may pick up the room's speaker, so keep it short). Turning the switch off brings the sound back but does not turn the mic on. It is remembered per meeting in that browser tab (survives reloading), and another meeting starts with it off. If everyone in the room turns it on, nobody in the room hears the call.
「レイアウトを変更」
「その他」 → 「レイアウトを変更」 in the bar below the call chooses how the videos are arranged on your own screen: 「タイル」, 「スポットライト」 (one person large), 「サイドバー」 (default: one large, the rest in a column at the side), or 「上に並べる」 (the rest in a row on top). It is remembered on that device for the next meeting. Hovering a tile shows a pin (「◯◯を固定」, or 「◯◯の画面を固定」 for a shared screen) that keeps it large; press again (「…の固定を解除」) to release. A pin drops when that person leaves or the share ends.
「表示名を変更」(通話中に自分の名前を変える)
「…」 (「その他の操作」) above the call → 「表示名を変更…」 changes the name the other participants see, members and guests alike. Type it (up to 50 characters) and press 「変更する」; the call reconnects for a few seconds, keeping your mic and camera on or off as they were, and the others see you leave and rejoin under the new name. A guest does not go back to the waiting room. Only you can change your own name — the creator and administrators cannot rename anyone else. The new name counts from that moment: captions, transcript lines, and the join/leave history already recorded keep the name you had then, and the minutes count you once under your latest name. It stays for the rest of that meeting (switching 「AI アクセス」 or reloading the page rejoins under it). Members also get 「次回からもこの名前を使う」, which saves it as 「ミーティングでの表示名」 in /settings/account (see references/webui-settings.md) so you join every meeting under it; without it, your next meeting uses your usual name again. A person removed with 「退出させる…」 cannot rename in that meeting, and 「表示名を変更できませんでした。通話に入り直してからお試しください」 means the server could not confirm it is you — rejoin and try again. The item does not appear before you have joined.
通話中の画面の自動ロック
While you are in a call, the screen does not turn off by the device's auto-lock (in browsers that support it, including Safari on iPhone with iOS 16.4 or later). It goes back to normal when you leave the call; on the screen before joining, the auto-lock works as usual.
通話中にページを再読み込みしたとき
Reloading the page during a call brings you back without the detail page or the name form: the call area shows 「再接続しています」 with the meeting title, then the call resumes with your mic and camera as they were. 「詳細へ戻る」 (members) or 「入室の画面へ戻る」 (guests) on that screen stops the rejoin. A member goes straight back into the call. A guest goes back through the waiting room every time — the waiting room says 「ページを再読み込みしたため、もう一度許可を待っています。主催者が許可すると通話に戻ります。」, and the members in the call get the notice 「〇〇さんが再読み込みしました。許可すると通話に戻ります」 next to the usual join request. Admit the guest from the participants panel as on the first join. Coming back after more than a minute, or in another tab, starts from the usual join screen.
回線が不安定なときの知らせ
When the connection gets unstable, a notice appears at the top of the call (members and guests alike; only you see it). It is judged from how well audio and video actually arrive, checked about every 7 seconds; it appears after two bad checks in a row and disappears after two good ones. Your own connection: 「あなたの回線が不安定です。Wi-Fi の近くへ移るか、テザリングに切り替えてください」 — shown when what you send (camera or screen share) arrives badly, or when everyone else's audio and video reach you badly at once (that means your side). Someone else's connection: 「大野 さんの回線が不安定です。声や画面が途切れることがあります」 — up to two names, then 「ほか N 人」. The × hides it until the people named change. It is a notice only — nothing is fixed automatically; the person named is the one who should move closer to the Wi-Fi, switch to tethering, or turn the camera off. If someone's voice or screen stops reaching you only, the app tries to receive it again about every 10 seconds on its own; if it is still missing after that, ask them to leave and join again.
挙手とリアクション
In the bar below the call, right after the mic and camera buttons (icons only on narrow screens). 「手を挙げる」 raises your hand (press again — 「手を下ろす」 — to lower it). Raised hands show at the top left of the call for everyone, in the order raised (up to 5, then 「ほか N 人」), including people who join later; your own row says 「(あなた)」. Only the meeting's creator can lower someone else's hand (the × on that row). A hand drops when its owner leaves. 「リアクション」 opens six emoji (👍 ❤️ 😂 😮 👏 🎉); the one you press floats up at the bottom left of everyone's screen with your name for about 4 seconds. Hands and reactions are not saved, not recorded, and not in the meeting's history.
スクリーンショット
「スクリーンショットを撮る」 is the first item in 「その他」 in the bar below the call — not in 「…」 (「その他の操作」) above the call. Members only — guests do not get the item. One press takes one JPEG of the call area exactly as you see it — the same layout, pinned tiles, the people in the column beside a shared screen, 「ほか N 人」, name tags and the 「<名前>の画面」 label (someone whose video is off appears as their initials, as on screen). Buttons, captions, drawing and whiteboard layers, and the bar below the call are not in it; people not on your screen are not in it either. It is not saved yet: a preview opens — 「保存」 saves it to the meeting, 「破棄」 (or ✕ / Esc) throws it away. If saving fails, the reason shows inside the preview and you can press 「保存」 again. While the preview is open, 「スクリーンショットを撮る」 is disabled. Only the person who pressed it sees 「スクリーンショットを保存しました」; nobody else is told, so say so before you take one. If the picture cannot be made at all, 「スクリーンショットを撮れませんでした。もう一度お試しください」 appears. Up to 100 per meeting (then 「スクリーンショットは 1 つのミーティングに 100 枚までです。…」) and 10 MiB each. Face-to-face meetings have no screenshots. Screenshots become files with the meeting's visibility, named 「<題名>スクリーンショット<日付>_<時刻>.jpg」; see them later on the meeting page's 「スクリーンショット」 tab (references/webui-meetings.md). The AI does not read them.
通話中の資料とファイル(名刺・会社紹介・スライドを配る、保管してあるファイルを開く)
「資料」 in the row above the call (a clip icon, with the number of materials beside it) opens one panel beside the call; press it again or the panel's 「資料を閉じる」 to close. Members always see the button; guests see it only when the meeting has at least one material. On narrow screens the panel covers the call (the call keeps going behind it). It takes the place of the 「AI」 panel, 「AI チャット」, and 「メッセージ」 — only one shows at a time, and the one opened last stays. The call does not drop and no new tab is needed.
The panel has two tabs. 「資料」 (everyone) lists the meeting's materials: business cards, company profiles, self-introduction slides, and so on. 「ファイル」 (members only; guests get no tab row) searches every file you can read: it opens on 「最近」 (files you opened recently; if empty, 「すべてのファイルを見る」) / 「すべて」, or type part of the name into 「ファイル名で検索」. Members land on 「資料」 when the meeting has at least one material, and on 「ファイル」 when it has none.
Click an item to open it in the panel (PDF, slides, Word, Excel, CSV, images, text…; read-only, the same way as on the files screen; edit on the files screen). A file you cannot read → 「このファイルは開けません」. 「一覧へ戻る」 goes back to the list. An opened material also has 「ダウンロード」 and, for those who can remove it, 「資料から外す」. An opened file has 「資料に追加」 (members, when the file is not a material yet): it adds the file to the meeting's materials and reopens it as a material.
Others see it only if you share your screen. In Chrome and Edge, 「このパネルを共有」 starts screen sharing with this tab suggested, and only the opened material or file is sent (not the call, not the list or tabs, not the panel's buttons); if you pick another tab or the whole screen, that is shared as is. It appears only when the browser supports this and your role may share the screen — guests with that permission can share too. Closing the panel stops a share started from it. Other browsers do not show 「このパネルを共有」 — use the call's own screen share button. Which file was opened is not saved anywhere (not in the meeting's details, the audit log, or the recording beyond what was shared on screen).
About materials: Everyone in the meeting can open them — members and admitted guests — at any time: during the call, before joining (guests see 「資料」 under the join form when there is at least one; that screen still uses a dialog), and after the call (members from the 「資料」 tab on the meeting's details; guests while their invitation link still works — 30 days from the last call, until the link is reissued or turned off, or until the meeting is ended with 「ミーティングを終了する」). Any member can add with 「資料を追加」: 「ファイルから選ぶ」 (any file you can read) or 「手元からアップロードする」 (uploads it as a file only you can see in the file list). Adding does not change who can see the file elsewhere: others open it only through this meeting, and it does not appear in their file list or search. Removing (「…」 → 「資料から外す」) is for the person who added it and the meeting's creator and admins; once removed it can no longer be opened from the meeting. If someone removes the one you are reading, the viewer closes with 「見ていた資料は外されました」. Up to 20 materials per meeting (「資料は 1 つのミーティングに 20 件までです。…」). A file moved to the trash disappears from the list and comes back if restored. Guests cannot add materials (they can send files in 「メッセージ」). Not available for in-person meetings. The AI does not read the materials.
通話中のチャット
「メッセージ」 in the row above the call, between 「サム丸招待」 and 「資料」 (in the app's top bar on wide screens; an icon only on narrow screens), opens the panel 「通話中のメッセージ」 beside the call (on narrow screens it slides up from the bottom); press it again or 「×」 (「メッセージを閉じる」) to close. It is different from 「AI チャット」, which talks to the AI: these messages go to the people in the call. The call's own bottom bar has no chat button. Everyone in the call can write — the creator, members, and admitted guests. 「宛先」 above the box picks who receives it: 「全員」 (the default) or one person in the call (a private, one-to-one message; AI participants are not listed). A private message shows 「→ あなた(個別)」 or 「→
キーボードショートカット
While in the call (on a computer), the keys follow Google Meet. Space or ⌘D (Ctrl+D) turns your mic on and off (pressing Space toggles it; there is no hold-to-talk; with 「同じ部屋にいる」 on, only the mic changes and the speaker stays muted). ⌘E (Ctrl+E) turns the camera on and off (in a 「カメラオン必須」 meeting it comes back on, as with the button). ⌃⌘H (Ctrl+Alt+H) raises or lowers your hand. ⌃⌘C (Ctrl+Alt+C) opens or closes 「メッセージ」. C turns captions on and off (only in calls where captions are available). Space and C do nothing while typing in a box, while a dialog or menu is open, or while a button has focus (Space then presses that button); the ⌘ / Ctrl keys work even while typing a message. They are also listed in 「ショートカット一覧」 under 「ミーティング」. Space no longer toggles 「サム丸に話す」 — press the button.
PiP と共有中のタブの操作
PiP (Chrome and Edge only) — see the other participants while sharing or working in another tab: 「…」 → 「ピクチャー・イン・ピクチャー」 above the call opens a small floating window that stays on top while you work in another tab; choose it again to close. It also opens by itself when you switch away from the meeting tab — including when sharing a tab moves you to that tab — unless the browser's automatic picture-in-picture setting is off. It shows one other participant large (the person speaking; while you speak it keeps the last person who spoke) and you small in the bottom-right corner — 「(あなた)」 — with a mic-off mark on the name. When you are alone, you are shown large. Buttons along the bottom turn your mic and camera on and off, raise or lower your hand (「手を挙げる」 / 「手を下ろす」), and 「退出」 leaves the meeting at once, without asking. When anyone has a hand up, the top-left says 「◯◯さんが手を挙げています」 (or 「◯◯さんほか N 人が手を挙げています」). While captions are on, the latest caption line shows above the buttons (no translation in the window). While someone shares, the top says 「画面を共有中」 with 「共有を停止」 (when it is you) or 「◯◯さんが画面を共有中」, the shared screen is on top and one other participant (the speaker) is shown large below it — you are not shown (when you are alone, only the shared screen) — also your own share of a tab or a window (「あなたの画面」), so you can watch it from the tab you are presenting. Your own share of the entire screen is not shown (the window would show up inside its own share); the speaker stays large instead. Reactions are not in the window. It closes when you leave. 「その他」 in the bar below the call has no PiP item. Scrolling and zooming a shared tab (Chrome 136 or later): when you share a browser tab (not a window or the whole screen), the row above the call shows 「タブをスクロール」 and zoom buttons (縮小 and 拡大, with the current %). With 「タブをスクロール」 on, the mouse wheel over your shared screen scrolls that tab; it turns off 「描く」 and the other way round. While drawing (「描く」) on your own shared tab, the mouse wheel also scrolls that tab — no need to switch. Lines stay where they were drawn on the screen and do not follow the scrolled page; clear them with 「すべてクリア」. The browser asks for permission the first time; if refused, 「ブラウザで許可されていません」. Remote control is not available: only the person sharing can do this — other participants cannot operate, scroll, zoom, click, or type in the shared screen (the browser does not allow it); they can still draw on it when the sharer allows (「描画を許可」).
